I made it up for the exercise but your comment got me thinking it may have potential for a future book.Thanks for the inspiration.

You could use that target—count the dots in each ring, draw a graph; repeat the exercise after training, plot the plot and chart any improvements …
If you do this already, it shows it’s a usable idea(?).
And the only time I ever discharged a longbow my one arrow slithered along the ground, right by the target. (Okay, close enough that I could walk to collect it …)
I have never used a crossbow. I was thinking in more general terms and liked by photo from the Archery Centre form the Sydney Olympics. Great idea though it would work in lots of ways.
