What in nature makes you chill out the most and why?
My favourite way to chill out is on a mountain covered in snow. Coming from Australia this is a rarity, which is what makes it special. I can go to the beach— my second favourite place—any day I choose, but not play in the snow. I love the serenity of having no-one else around—just me, my partner and nature’s beauty on top of the world. The stark contrast between the crisp white snow, the bright shining sun and the Alpine trees.
Wherever possible I like to spend my birthday at the snow. I was last there on my final day being forty —my husband and I were at Whakapapa, New Zealand. It was a great day.
In less than a month, we travel to Canada to fulfill our dream of a white Christmas. After six weeks living in the snow—I may no longer see snow as my favourite way to chill in nature.

snow is beautiful! But I have to say, I would take the beach any day! 🙂 Enjoy Canada!
I have no choice when it comes to snow. I live in an area where it snows for months. Believe me I prefer sun and beaches! And when Spring comes I am like a mad woman let out of a box. I become a whirlwind. I too was asked to do this challenge but due to time, had to say no. I am really glad to see others are doing this challenge and having fun with it. Love, Amy
You can never have too much sun and beaches but I am sure living in the snow is very different to going on a ski vacation. it was a fun challenge.
Snow can be peaceful! We lived in an area for 10 years that snowed. I loved how calm it could be with big snowflakes drifting down (not the blizzards) it was so quiet and muffled. But then…you shovel, you push your grocery cart through slush, it’s messy to get to work. I don’t ever want to live where it snows again but I absolutely wouldn’t mind visiting it!
It is the look of falling snow that I love. Will experience the dark side of snow very soon but I am really looking forward to it.
I like to look at snow, from the comfort and warm of indoors. It is beautiful. But I do prefer the warmer weather.
A white Christmas, now that is something special. 🙂
Thanks for participating!!!
Oh, 6 weeks will not do any damage 😉 How about skiing in AUS itself? I actually like it!
I like it if I can get away from the crowds and snowboarders on the narrow trails.
Great blog you will love Canada. I should know I live here.
