If we were having coffee I would tell you how I am enjoying getting back into regular blogging by participating in Blogging from A – Z 2016. My theme is loosely based around Australia and my travels, so it has been fun remembering and sharing my knowledge and fun. Despite being a bit behind I will complete the task by the end of April.
If we were having coffee I would tell you how surprised I was to find white spots on the underside of the water filter when I finally changed it last night, later than it was meant to be changed. My son is convinced it’s just the charcoal changing colour and I am happy to go with that theory as the thought of me swallowing anything else filtered through my water is a bit much for me to cope with.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that this week I clicked over 20,000 views on my blog. When I started Inspiring Max less than 2 years ago I didn’t dream this was possible. Now I ask myself how long will it take me to reach 50,000 views and I tell myself that if I work hard at it, maybe 18 months. I would also tell you how grateful I am for my regular followers as well as random viewers I receive. I would also tell you that I love that my blogging community grows daily.
If we were having coffee I would tell you how frustrated I am with the inconsistencies around new parking laws in Australia. In New South Wales at least I was recently booked for parking less than 10 metres from the curb. The ironic thing was that my daughter and I had discussed in the morning the distance we were parked from the curb and estimated it to be 10 metres. However looking more closely, after the fine, we realized we had parked less than 10 metres from the curb, but we weren’t happy that all the cars parked on the 4 corners of that street should have been booked not just us — no one else was.
If we were having coffee I would tell you how much I enjoyed catching up with our special friends last Saturday drinking French champagne together. I am grateful to have special friends that even though we only catch-up with them randomly these days due to commitments with life, we always just pick up from where we left off after our last visit.
If we were having coffee I would ask you what you have been up to this last week, let me know in the comments.
Well done on growing your blog views! I hope to do the same ? The AtoZ challenge is a great one for developing a blogging discipline!
Thank you. It certainly is and it helps with inspiration too.
Your blog is growing. 20,000 views, I don’t thinkI will get there. Mine is slowly I increasing and that is the way Iu like it. Sorry about parking fine, that hurts.
Blogging is definitely a slow and steady wins the race type affair not a sprint.
Congrats on reaching 20,000 views! So rightly deserved and it was so nice to catch up over coffee:)
Thank you for your support and being a part of my community.
Since you asked, Max, this has been my week:
Finished my last week off (of three), burning up leave accumulated working over Christmas – disappointed that I have yet again not managed to try out my coffee syphon when I have days off. It’s only been six months since I bought the damn thing!
Am almost finished the garden cottage…it’s only been close to eight years since it was first delivered and assembled in the wrong spot. I’m no handyman so it’s been as much a journey of DIY self-education and still being able to count to ten at the end of each day I do some work on it.
I always clean the house when I have some leave – this time I was on leave so long I got to clean it twice: not sure whether that is a good or a bad thing.
Resolved to curtail my online shopping – started by buying some new toys…
The one new toy I really needed – a new chainsaw – was delivered with a dodgy chain tensioner: four days of fine weather forecast and I am stuck – for now – with a red paperweight that looks like a chainsaw…frustrating: want to drop the trees that block the morning sun and get them into the wood shed before winter proper hits.
Attended a professionally rewarding day with a study trip into the volcanic dunes in the Rangipo Desert – turns out that it isn’t really a desert but, after much scientific debate (no punches thrown), everyone seems sure that the dunes are still dunes…
Discovered that BK and KFC will put inches on my waist as I watch – not news but interesting to actually feel it happening #mybeltisnowtootight but also discovered that coconut oil is soooo much better than vegetable oils for cooking…
Thanks for asking…
PS…well done on the 20k views…it seems like it takes forever to hit milestones like this but keep writing as you are and it will take off even more…
Thanks for stopping by for coffee. You have been busy doing many of the things I plan to do but never get around to such as spring cleaning the house. I feel your pain with the chainsaw as my husband loves his chainsaw and would be very frustrated if he bought a new one and it could be used. I don’t know much about coconut oil so I might investigate it a little more on your advice.
Coconut oil is my new best friend in the kitchen…I originally bought some when I first started playing with dairy-free cheese/ice cream/yoghurt (I’m all for healthy so long as I don’t have to give up too much!) but as I explore this new healthy world, I find it has many uses: I use it in some smoothies, in coffee (still an acquiring taste) and now as a cooking oil…it’s a little pricey compared to the more common alternatives, but the flavour…oh yes…!
Will conduct my own experiment and discuss my finding in a future coffee catch-up. Thanks for the tip.
